Richard Fairbrother
Elected

Hi I'm Richard (Rico) Fairbrother.

I attended Wairarapa College from 1994-1998, and I loved my time at the school.

Upon leaving Wai Coll, I gained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Agribusiness at Massey University, and have worked in the fertiliser and banking sectors, and then travelled overseas.

My wife Abi and our three children are now farming in the Wairarapa and heavily involved in the local Community.

We have one child at Wairarapa College, and 2 children at Whareama School.

I'm currently coaching the Wairarapa College colts boys cricket team, and also the Wairarapa representative yr9/10 boys cricket team.

With my previous work experience, a past President leading the local East Coast rugby club, along with my skills running a successful farming business, I believe I have a lot to offer the Wairarapa College Board of Trustees.

I have a passion for Wairarapa College, and want to see all students who attend the school to have the opportunity to reach their full potential.

Please consider voting for me on the Board Of Trustees for Wairarapa College.

Regards

Richard (Rico) Fairbrother

Ross Thompson
Elected

Tena koe, my name is Ross Thompson, I am the husband of Blanche Thompson and father of our four children Rocco, Ashton, Harvey and Nina. Both my wife and I are ex Wairarapa college students and have fond memories of our time there. We have now seen our two oldest children complete their secondary education there with our third currently attending.

I believe Wai col is a fantastic school and has always strived to deliver a high standard of education for many generations of learners here in the Wairarapa. The current board have done an excellent job in the governance of the school and if elected I would be looking to continue this great work and further enhance the quality education Wairarapa college provides for our children.

As a business owner here in the Wairarapa I know how important it is to provide the necessary support, resources and tools for a team to be effective in their roles. I have a passion for helping people and take great pleasure in coaching and inspiring them to build their skills and knowledge and seeing the boost in confidence and Mana they gain from this. Through a position on the board I would be actively supporting Tumuaki Matt White and his dedicated team to do the same for our children.

I have built my governance skills over the years being part of the Solway Primary School BOT and various steering groups where I have enjoyed being an active contributor and proud of our achievements. I am a successful Maori business owner and enjoy the interactions I have with all walks of life in our increasing culturally diverse community. I believe I have the time, skills and attributes to make a positive contribution to the Wairarapa College Board of Trustees if elected.

Noho ora mai
